Hope Foundation recently hosted an engaging intercultural movie and discussion evening featuring the Namibian film The White Line, a powerful story that explores themes of racism, identity, love, and coexistence.
The film screening brought together a diverse audience in Berlin and created a reflective space to examine how historical and social realities continue to shape present-day societies. The event was made even more special by the presence of the film’s lead actor, Jan-Barend Scheepers, who shared personal insights into the production process, the challenges faced during filming, and the deeper message behind the story.
He was joined by Namibian researcher George Kaliteke, whose contributions added valuable perspectives on colonial history, identity, and reconciliation. Together, they engaged the audience in a meaningful discussion, followed by an open Q&A session that encouraged dialogue, reflection, and exchange of ideas.
