Malaria remains one of the leading causes of death in Africa, with millions of lives lost each year, particularly among children under five and pregnant women. In Cameroon, the disease continues to pose a major public health challenge, especially in underserved communities where access to prevention, education, and treatment is limited.
Although preventive tools such as insecticide-treated nets are proven to be highly effective, many families still lack access to them or do not have adequate knowledge on proper usage. Financial constraints and limited healthcare access further increase the vulnerability of affected populations.
The Malaria Free Cameroon project was established to combat malaria through a comprehensive, community-based approach. In collaboration with local partners and health institutions, we implement initiatives that focus on awareness, prevention, screening, and treatment.
Our interventions include community education campaigns, distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets, and support for individuals diagnosed with malaria. By combining prevention with access to care, we aim to reduce infection rates and improve health outcomes in high-risk communities, particularly in the East region of Cameroon.
We organise workshops, campaigns, and training sessions in schools, markets, and communities to educate people on malaria prevention, symptoms, and treatment.
Through community campaigns, we conduct malaria screenings and support patients with access to affordable or free treatment in collaboration with local health partners.
We provide insecticide-treated nets to pregnant women and children under five, helping protect the most vulnerable groups from malaria.
We work with local and international partners to expand outreach, mobilise resources, and explore innovative prevention solutions to reduce malaria cases.
Through the Malaria Free Cameroon project, thousands of families have gained access to life-saving prevention tools, health education, and medical support. Our efforts have contributed to reducing malaria risks and improving community health outcomes. We remain committed to expanding our reach and working towards a future where no life is lost to preventable diseases like malaria.
