Fair Play: Wear t-shirts without knocking out the workers

06. June 2017

It is this time of the year: the third round of our project Fair Champions has begun

Last year, almost half of the participating pupils were not aware of what a "fair trade" seal is or what it stands for. We would like to change that.

In a 2-day workshop, the primary school pupils are being acquainted with the international textile supply chains.

Our goal is to raise the pupils’ awareness of the "fair trade" movement, with a focus point in the textile supply chain. Through interactive and multimedia based methods, we draw a link between consumer behavior in Germany and living and working conditions of textile workers in other parts of the world.

For us it is important to clarify and explain the term "fair trade". When the workshop is over, the pupils and teachers will get the chance to understand better what the "fair trade" seal means. They will also be able recognize the differences between conventional and "fair trade" cloths.

What is new this year is that we are planning
a day full of activities for all the participating schools. Our goal is to get as many pupils and teachers involved in the planning of this day as possible.
