Hope Foundation team visits the Bosa Orphanage, Bali-Nyonga
29. November 2011

In the month of August 2011, the Hope Foundation team visited the Bosa orphanage in Bali Nyonga where 45 children live. Bali Nyonga is situated in the North West region of Cameroon, some 20 kilometers from Bamenda. Social life in this part of the country is well structured where communities are organised and families live together. Nonetheless there are still a number of orphans existing and most of them are presently growing and living at the Bosa orphanage.
Once we arrived in the courtyard of the orphanage, the children happily welcomed us with a nice welcome song. We were not lucky to meet the founder of the orphanage but we had the chance to talk with the coordinating director and the working staff who immediately took time to show us around the orphanage. We saw the living rooms of the children, the kitchen, the reception area and some classrooms where the children go to school to learn something new.
After the round tour at the orphanage and individual presentations, we directly explained to the children why we decided to visit them. We were there to offer them donations which will help them in one way or the other.
August volunteers coming from France and Austria had collected a number of gifts from their respective countries, to offer to children in Cameroon and the Bosa Orphanage was the first choice we made since volunteers had been implementing a holiday school project in the same area. Each child got a clothing item and some toys. The Hope Foundation staff and the group of volunteers didnot only offer toys and clothing to the children, but also school material such as books, pencils and more. There were enough gifts for all the children and some were reserved for newcomers.
The kids were very grateful and we spent the remaining time with them playing various games such as soccer, cards, hide and seek and more. Everything ended with a family picture and the volunteers had the chance to take various snap shots with the children.
"We would have loved to stay longer with these wonderful kids, but unfortunately the time passed so quick that we had to leave them so soon! I am happy that in a small way, we could make these children happy with the gifts we reserved for them" Anna Matras -Volunteer from France.
"It is so sweet to see one of the boys immediately dressing himself up in his Bayern Munich soccer shirt. We will plan to send more donations to these children in the future" Stefan Krammer -Volunteer from Austria.
Hope Foundation decided this year to dedicate its Christmas Project for Orphans to the Bosa Orphanage. Support this project to enable us to offer these children a wonderful Christmas season.
