SAVE THE DATE – Malaria Week Berlin – against the oblivion

A week against Malaria: the “Malaria Week Berlin 2017” organised by the Hope Foundation
For the World Malaria Day on April 25th the Hope Foundation (HF) calls for more awareness in the fight against Malaria.
From the 24th until 30th of April the Foundation would like to raise awareness against Malaria through various events. Indeed, the disease often gets forgotten. “I had Malaria a few times myself”, says Gerald Bobga Fonkenmun (Founder and Director of the Hope Foundation). “I was lucky, because I could get healed from the disease, but unfortunately many members of my family died from Malaria.” According to a report from the WHO (13.12.2016), and even with numbers that decrease since 15 years, one child dies every 2 minutes to this curable disease.
That is the reason why many runners will be present on April 30th for the annual Charity run “MALARATHON 2017”. From the Bambini run to the 10km run – there is something for everyone. Further more on April 27th the HF is organising the Techno Charity Party “ELEKTROKITOS” in the famous Berlin Club “Burg Schnabel”. With the slogan “Techno against Malaria” prestigious DJs such as Robert Owens, Techno Frühstück, Mike Book and many more will play for the good cause.
The HF is inviting everyone to attend our events, and therefore to get active in the fight against Malaria. All the raised money will go to the Malaria Free Cameroon Project, in order to buy impregnated mosquito nets, organise awareness campaigns and buy information material in East-Cameroon.
